Our goal is to promote healing and resiliency during tragedy and difficult times. By using a network of resources, community involvement and educational opportunities, we connect individuals to just in time and ongoing support.
*#HERSMILE has made a monetary contribution to the family of Camryn Rose Smith of Roseville, CA. Camryn, age 15, passed away on October 21 leaving behind her loving parents, younger brother and countless family and friends. At her Celebration of Life ceremony, her family requested that her loved ones come dressed in Disney attire. We find this tribute incredibly touching and fitting. "Camy was an amazing girl whose smile could warm a room. She was so full of life and always could make you laugh." May the warmth of Camryn's presence be felt by all that loved her for an eternity.
*Morello Park Elementary in Martinez, CA lost a very special person from their community, 4th Grade teacher Claire Reidenbach. Her passing was unexpected, leaving her students without warning. Today #HERSMILE delivered Emilio Parga's, of the Solace Tree Foundation, age appropriate journals for Mrs. Reidenbach's students. The journals include guided headings for children to write or draw. Much of how children grieve is through doing. These journals are a powerful tool to help the children to work through their pain, emotions and thoughts. *#HERSMILE has made a financial contribution to Eve Mayfield of San Francisco, who tragically lost her mother, Kristie May Mayfield, on May 14, 2016. Kristie was a great friend, nurturer, and caregiver. All funds raised will be collected and deposited directly into Eve's custodial account at Morgan Stanley to prepare for Eve's future education.

Ray died on October 28th leaving behind his wife and two teenage children whom attend College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, CA. "Ray was a big hearted, loving family man. He was a genuine man that helped anyone that needed him." We vow to be a supportive light to this family and others in similar circumstances as they begin to rebuild their lives amongst great tragedy. We will forever be connected.
*#HERSMILE has made a monetary contribution to the family of Greg Molinari of San Jose, CA. Greg, age 53, passed away September 7 leaving behind his loving wife and 11 year old daughter. Greg was a ceramic artist whom had a deep love for the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox. "His heart was always full of love and a smile that captured anyone that saw it." May his infectious smile live on for an eternity. With your ongoing love and support, #HERSMILE is able to help this family purchase a headstone for Greg. We are all forever connected.
*#HERSMILE has made a monetary contribution to the parents of Axel Avera of Montara, CA. Axel, age 2, died on September 1, 2016 after complications due to an E.Coli infection. Axel loved hiking, gourmet meals, playing "monster walk", and the color yellow. His loving family expressed that Axel "will be forever in our hearts. He has changed our lives in the most wonderful ways." We pray that your eternal love lifts and guides you always.
*On September 5, 2016 Chris Turner of Concord, CA passed away after a valiant fight with cancer at the age of 47. Chris leaves behind his wife of more than 20 years, his two beautiful daughters and countless family and friends. #HERSMILE made a monetary contribution to this loving family in the honor of Chris, who will be forever remembered for his "fun, loving heart and compassion for all. Chris never left a party early...we are so tremendously sorry he left this one far too soon."
*On July 7, Sarah Mollwitz of Concord,CA died suddenly at the age of 40. #HERSMILE has made a monetary contribution to Sarah's family. Sarah is the mother to three biological children as well as two foster children. She will be remembered for her strong personality, fierce loyalty and love for her family. We hold Sarah's family and friends in our hearts. May the love you share be a comfort.
*On July 4th, our community lost an amazing woman. Sharon Swaigen, of Martinez, CA, passed away after a brave fight of cancer for 5 years. Sharon is loved by many but no more than her husband and three lovely daughters. #HERSMILE has made a monetary contribution to Sharon's family. The impact Sharon has made on us will never fade. Forever in our hearts.
*#HERSMILE has made a monetary contribution to the family of Gabe Blanco. Gabe, of Martinez, CA, died on July 1st after a two month battle with a rare and aggressive form of lymphoma. Gabe, known for his kind heart, had dreamt that his three children would be able to go to college.
*#HERSMILE made a monetary contribution to the family of Anabelle Bautista. Anabelle died suddenly on June 10th, her 55th birthday. Anabelle has three adult children who are all serving in the military as well as an 8 year old son who attends Hidden Valley Elementary School in Martinez, CA. Our hearts are heavy for all of the lives Anabelle has touched.
*#HERSMILE made a monetary contribution to the family of Angelo Rangel from Stockton, CA. Angelo, age 14, was tragically killed while riding his bicycle on May 28. Angelo's mother recently said, "You brought pure joy to our whole family. You had a beautiful glow and such a beautiful smile." We are deeply saddened by this family's loss and know that Angelo's memory will be embedded in the hearts of all that loved him.
*Unspeakable tragedy has affected our community. Andre Parrilla, a student at Alhambra High School, died last night. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with Andre's family and friends. #HERSMILE is dedicated to helping the Parrilla family in any way possible through this heartbreaking time.
*On March 25, Nathan Smith, 15 years old, died in a bicycle accident in his hometown of Benicia, CA. #HERSMILE made a monetary contribution in Nathan's memory to his parents and two siblings. Nathan's aunt recently said, "I can't tell you how heartwarming it is to see how many kind people with giving hearts are helping the family anyway they can, whether it be loving support, prayers, food, donations or kind words." We hold the Smith family in our hearts and pray that the love, warmth and sweet memories that surrounds them brings a sense of comfort. #HERSMILE believes, unequivocally, that love heals. Never stop spreading your love.
*Today #HERSMILE made a monetary contribution to the Bolanos children, of Martinez, in honor of their parents Roberto and Maria. On March 13, Roberto and Maria Bolanos were killed in a tragic car accident on Highway 4. They were hit by a vehicle whose driver dozed off at the wheel. Three of their young children and their nephew were also in the car. Thankfully all children survived the crash yet the days that lie ahead for them are heart wrenching. "This will not be easy but with the grace of God and all your kind words we will make it." ~ Jose Bolanos, the family's eldest son. Jose, age 25, and his sister Lili, age 21, will be the caretakers for their younger siblings. We are tremendously saddened by their loss as well as overwhelmed by the generosity of loved ones and strangers. Due in part by donations like ours, the Bolanos children will stay together, under one roof, in a home full of love so they are able to grieve and heal together.
*On February 4, Michael Cordova, a sophomore in high school, tragically died. #HERSMILE made a monetary contribution to Michael's family in his honor. Michael will forever be remembered by his family and friends as a kind and genuine young boy with a heart full of love and joy. Michael was known to say, "Don't forget that you're all beautiful." Just as you are and forever will be Michael ~ a beautiful angel.
*#HERSMILE made a monetary contribution to the parents of Katie Grace Groebner. On Christmas Day Katie Grace, age 13, died after a long battle with pulmonary hypertension. Originally from Minnesota, Katie Grace and her family moved to the Bay Area to be near Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. Despite Katie Grace's health struggles, she remained a positive and loving light to all that knew her. "She believed that you should love so hard that people wouldn't have to say the words, it poured from her eyes and smile." We believe that Katie Grace's love and smile will forever be etched into the hearts of all that love her.
*#HERSMILE made a monetary contribution today to the family of Matt Walton. Matt, age 37, died suddenly on Christmas Eve from a heart attack. He leaves behind his wife, 5 year old daughter and 2 year old twins. Matt was a loving father with countless friends. He also experienced great tragedy in his short life when his brother died when Matt was just 8 years old. This young family will forever hold a place in our hearts and prayers.
*On December 13, Lev Bun and Phy Phom of Oakland were killed in a single-car crash on Highway 580 due to weather-related conditions. Two of their nine children were also in the car yet survived the crash. #HERSMILE has made a monetary donation to each of Lev and Phy's nine children. Lev's sister believes that "we have to live, love and laugh like there is no tomorrow because tomorrow is not promised." We believe that no matter what religion you practice or holidays you celebrate, giving of yourself and loving others is what truly matters. We hold these children and this family in our hearts. We pray they continue to be a comfort to one another and that they never forget that they are not alone.
*On October 21, Tony Richardson of the Bay Area, died unexpectedly leaving behind his wife, whom was also his high school sweetheart, and four young children. "It's not easy to say goodbye to a loved one. Tony brought a lot of joy and laughter into our lives and we will continue to keep his memory alive!" May the spirit of Tony live on in all that loved him. #HERSMILE has gifted this loving family with a monetary contribution that we hope will help alleviate some of the financial burdens a tragedy like this leaves behind. Because of you, together we are able to touch the lives of those when they need us the most.
*#HERSMILE sends charitable funds in honor of John Stelchek. John Stelcheck was a father, brother, uncle, spouse and friend. He passed away January 26th, 2015 on the evening of his youngest's son's 11th birthday. The family had enjoyed a beautiful evening celebrating together before John's very sudden passing. An evening the family will never forget.
